Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize a check unit which obtains the print quality control standard of bar codes, by calculating a rate of the number of times of reading bar codes to the number of times of recognition and then by displaying the obtained rate.
CONSTITUTION: Several scanning light beams are made to scan in parallel crossing bar codes of bar-code label 6 at right angles, and reflected light (e) is detected by photo detector 7. Then the output of detector 7 is sent to recognizing method 9 and only when it is recognized properly, a read end signal is outputted to arithmetic method 10. Arithmetic method 10 calculates a rate of the number of times of scans discriminated by a synchronizing signal to the number of read end signals and the result is displayed on display part 11. Then, the print quality of bar codes is brought under control by making use of the display.
