Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable a simple circuit to remove inter-code interference occurring on a transmission line by finding inter-code interference to be subtracted from a received signal by making use of soft-decision results of the received signal and corresponding tap gains. CONSTITUTION:One input signal is led to delay circuit 2-1, and the other to shift register 4-1 via soft-decision circuit 3. The product of a signal from tap gain memory circuit 5-1 and a soft-decision result from tape 6 is calculated by multiplier 7-1 and then inputted to subtracter 8 together with a signal from delay circuit 2-1. Next, hard-decision circuit 9 makes a decision upon its output and subtracter 10 finds a difference between the result and the signal from subtracter 8 to obtain the corrected value of a tap gain. Therefore, a signal inputted to a delay line can be substituted by the result of a soft decision on the input signal, so that while the circuit constitution is simplified, inter-code interference can be removed.
