Abstract

PURPOSE:Toiletery composition that contains a specific dipentaerythritol ester as a wax, thus showing good color, smell and high stability and having constant quality. CONSTITUTION:Said composition contains at least one of dipentaerythritol esters of the formula (R1-R6 are H, acyls originated from 2-22C straight-chain fatty acids). The compounds of the formula is obtained by esterification of inexpensive and reactive straight-chain fatty acids. The polarity of the esters varies with the number of hydroxyl groups esterified with acyl groups among 6 hydroxyl groups. When the compounds of the formula is added to cosmetics as a wax, the precipitation of crystals is prevented in cream and emulsion and good luster and high-transparency are obtained in stick products and in pomade respectively.
