Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve temperature characteristics by adding special substance into piezoelectric ceramics of rhombohedral phase area.
CONSTITUTION: At least more than one kind of chemicals of MnO2, CoO and Cr2O3 are added by 0.1∼3.0wt% to piezoelectric material in a rhombohedral phase area mainly composed of leadtitanate (PbTiO3), lead zirconate (PbZrO3) and lead magnesium niobate [Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3]. This blended material is hot-pressed so that piezoelectric ceramics are formed. If this ceramic material is employed, it is possible to obtain, for instance, a high-performance surface elastic wave filter for television image intermediate frequency circuit.
