Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce excellently-finished applique speedily at a low cost by a method wherein fine materials, such as short fibers, are bonded to a peelable substrate cloth via a temporarily bonded layer, a patterned layer is formed on the layer of fine materials, and thereafter the pattern on the patterned layer is transfered on a copying cloth.
CONSTITUTION: A temporary layer 2 is formed on a peelable substrate cloth 1, and a layer 3 of fine materials, such as short fibers, glass particles or the like is temporarily bonded to the tmeporarily bonded layer 2. A screen is laid on the layer 3 of fine materials, and a poweful adhesive consisting of a mixture of powder of thermoplastic synthetic resin and paste of a synthetic resin is coated on the screen and dried to form a pattern-bonded layer 4. A copying cloth 5 is superposed on the pattern-bonded layer 4, and the resulting lamination is thermally pressed through the peelable substrate cloth 1 so as to transfer the pattern only on the layer 3 of fine materials to the copying cloth 5.
