Abstract

PURPOSE: To permit the partial adhesion of charged powder inside the fluidized tank of an electrostatic coater by using a means that causes charged powder to adhere to a desired portion alone.
CONSTITUTION: The charged powder 12 is consistently cahrged in the fluidized tank 7 by a high-tension electrode provided at the lower part of the electrostatic coater. When sending the object 4 to be coated, such as coil core for quartz time piece, etc., along the guide 3 at equal speed, compressed air is blown up from the lower part of the electrostatic coater 6 and then passed through the perforated palte 14 to fluidize the charged powder 12. Then, the floating charged powder is passed through the insulating shield plate 1 to adhere to the object 4 to be coated. Since the charged powder is apt to leak through aperture between the shield plate 1 and the object 4 to the outside, it is sucked up by the duct 9 and then removed through the pipe 2 by the dust absorbing brush 11. Thus, only a specific portion 10 of the object 4 to be coated, put between the shield plates 1, can be coated with good accuracy.
