Abstract
PURPOSE: To decrease the oxidation loss of Pb(alloy) and also, to enable to melt quickly by the heat from molten metal, by pushing the scrap etc. of Pb(alloy) in the molten metal mechanically through Pb(alloy) charging cylinder inserted below the molten metal surface at a constant depth.
CONSTITUTION: The Pb(alloy) charging cylinder 6 is inserted into the molten Pb(alloy)1 in the ladle 3 heating by the burner 5. The Pb(alloy) scrap 7 charged from the funnel 10, is pushed in the molten Pb(alloy)1 forcibly by the piston 8 driven by the oil pressure cylinder 9 through the fire grid 11. Small pieces in the scrap 7 are not floated on the surface of molten metal because the scrap 7 is sunk below the surface deeply and accordingly, the scrap 7 is dissolved in the molten metal without oxidation.
