Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the error occurrence rate when the information is reproduced by dividing the recording region of the recording medium into three parts or more and then recording the same information on each of the divided regions. CONSTITUTION:The recording region of the recording medium is divided equally into three parts S1, S2 and S3, an recording signals Wt are supplied to these regions via distributor DEV plus record/reproduction heads H1-H3. Thus exactly the same information can be recorded these three recording regions. At the reproduction time, two units of the reproduction signals of heads H1-H3 are supplied to AND gates A1-A3 which are paired each and then delivered through OR gate OR. In this case, even if the reproduction signals at one of three regions S1-S3 may have some error due to the fault of the recording medium and other factors, the selection control can be given via gates A1-A3 plus OR as long as the signals of other two regions are correct.
