Abstract
PURPOSE: A low toxic insecticide having reliable control effect on a wide range of noxious insects in low concentrations and not prociding them with resistance to drugs, consisting of a mixture of a specific cyclopropanecarboxylic acid derivative and an insect destroying organic phosphorus compound as an active ingredient.
CONSTITUTION: An insecticide consisting of a mixture of a) a compound shown by the formula I (A is H, cyano, or ethynyl; X is H, methyl, Cl, Br, or F) and b) an insect destroying organic phosphorus compound, e.g., EPN (ethyl-p-nitrophenylthionobenzenephosphonate), etc. in a weight ratio of a) to b) of preferably 1:99W 80:20 as an active ingredient. The compound shown by the formula I is obtained by reacting acid chloride of 2,2-dimethyl-3-(2,2,2-trichloroethyl) cyclopropanecarboxylic acid and a corresponding alcohol in the presence of a tertiary amine. 3-Phenoxybenzyl 2,2-dimethyl-3-(2,2,2-trichloroethyl) cyclopropanecarboxylate, etc. may be cited as the compound shown by the formula I.
