Abstract
PURPOSE: To raise the accuracy of measurement in the range of minute flow rate, by detecting the consumption of water or the like in terms of an electric signal and eliminating a mechanical transmission system between a means responsible to the measured quantity and a means for integrating and indicating the consumed sum.
CONSTITUTION: A runner 4 and a permanent magnet 5 rotate depending on a measured flow rate. The rotation of the permanent magnet is detected by a sensor 7 in terms of an electric signal, which is changed by an interface circuit 11 into another electric signal corresponding to the rotational frequency. The latter electric signal is stored in a memory 8 and applied to an indicator 9 to display the total consumption of water. Since the rotation of the runner 4 is transmitted to the indicator without using a mechanical transmission system, the load upon the runner is reduced and the accuracy of measurement in the range of minute flow rate is raised. Becauses damages do not take place due to the wear or the like of the mechanical transmission system, the lifetime is lengthened.
