Abstract

PURPOSE: To check night radiation of a hot water tank by surrounding the tank with a cover having a lagging material while an air layer is provided between the tank and the cover, with an electric heater in the layer.
CONSTITUTION: A hot water tank 3 of a hot water reservior 2 is surrounded with an outer cover 5 having a lagging material 4 and an air layer 6 is provided between the tank 3 and the cover 5. The air layer is provided therein with an electric heater 7 which is controlled with a photosensitive switch, a timer or the like. The electric heater is so arranged to collect heat from the solar energy during daytime by heating water in cooperation with a solar heat collector 1 while at night the hot water in the hot water tank is prevented from radiation with an air layer 6 maintained at the set temperature. With such an arrangement, the radiation at night can be checked easily with a simple construction.
