Abstract

PURPOSE:To widen the combustion range in a gas burner nozzle and prevent undesirable substances from occurring therein, by providing in a nozzle body ejection ports communicated with air passages defined by air swirl vanes, and flat or streamlined plates in those portions of the air passages which include the ejection ports, whereby a partial pre-mixing of fuel and air can be promoted. CONSTITUTION:A fuel nozzle 1 is provided coaxially with an air swirl element 3 having a plurality of swirl vanes 5. The nozzle 1 has regularly spaced fuel ejection ports in those portions of the wall thereof which are between two adjacent swirl vanes 5 of the air swirl element 3. Vortex generating plates 6 are provided at the downstream side of the fuel ejection ports 2 such that the plates 6 are opposed to the ejection ports 2. In this structure, the fuel is ejected into the air swirl element 3 to be divided into substantially two equal parts due to the vortex generating plates 6. As a result, vortexes occures at the downstream side of the vortex generating plates 6. Thus, ejection currents of a mixture of fuel and air flow constantly to be stably burnt in a wide combustion range. In fact, this structure permits promoting mixing of fuel and air and attaining an excellent combustion without generating soot.
