Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize miniaturization of the motor by driving the reel stand via the motor and through the speed reduction mechanism as well as to ensure the large inertia effect without increasing the size of the whole device.
CONSTITUTION: The rotation of motor 15 is given to take-up reel stand 6 and supply reel stand 7 from gear 17 and through reduction gears 11b and 12b as well as via reduction gears 11a, 6a, 11b and 7a each. Thus magnetic tape 1 is sent. As the rotation of motor 15 is reduced in two steps, the large inertia effect can be secured without increasing the size of the whole device. Thus a high-performance and capstanless-system tape driving device can be obtained with the steady running secured for the tape. Furthermore, the power saving can also be realized since the device can be driven with a small-size motor.
