Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce benzene, toluene, etc., according to demand by distilling toluene, etc., from high-boiling fractions after treatment of dealkylation in the treatment process of aromatic compounds, provided with hydrogenating and hydrodealkylating reactors.
CONSTITUTION: The crude benzene 1 is supplied to the predistiller 2, the benzene- rich fraction 3 obtained is treated in the class A of the hydrogeneting reactor 5, and the pure benzene 11 is distilled from the pure benzene tower 7. The fraction 4 deprived of the fraction 3 and the heavy fraction 16 is sent to the class B of the hydrogenenating reactor 6 for subjecting it to hydrogenation and dealkylation in order to obtain the pure benzene the same as the pure benzene 11. A part of high-boiling fractions from the bottom of the pure benzene tower 8 is sent to the pure toluene tower 9, and the other part is again sent back to the frontal flow portion of the hydrogenating reactor 6. Thus, by varying the charge 18 to the pure toluene tower 9, the production of toluene and xylene can be adjusted at our disposal. And, raw material in an amount equal to that supplied to the pure toluene tower 9 can be supplied to the class B of the hydrogenating reactor 6, assuring an increase in the production of benzene.
