Abstract
PURPOSE: To miniaturize a transformer while holding output capacity to a load by providing a switching circuit to a primary-side circuit and then by making the switching circuit conduct in a period corresponding to a point in time when a smoothing capacitor is charged.
CONSTITUTION: Bridge rectifier circuit 10 rectifies the output of transformer 5 and the output of this circuit 10 is smoothed by capacitor 11. Here, switching circuit 7 is provided to a feed path to the primary winding of transformer 5. Next, the switching circuit is made to conduct by switching control circuits 14 and 21 corresponding to a period when a current flows through the smoothing circuit of capacitor 11 from the secondary winding of transformer 5. Consequently, the transformer can be miniaturized while output capacity to a load is held.
