Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a cylinder-head gasket of an engine which is little permanent- deformed even if an excessive compressive force is applied, by embedding a specific metal reinforcing element in a gasket body. CONSTITUTION:A bolt hole 3 into which the cylinder-head bolt 2 of a cylinder-head gasket 1 is inserted is constituted of the internal space of a cylindrical metal reinforcing element 4. Said metal reinforcing element 4 is gradually widened upward and downward from the central part in the vertical direction, and flanges 5 are formed at upper and lower end surfaces and the height is made lower than the height H of the gasket 1 described above in non-compressed state by 2 H, and a concaved part 6 having a depth of H is formed at the upper and the lower surfaces of the flange 5, in the state where the element 4 is embedded in the gasket 1. Accordingly, the amount of permanent deformation of the cylinder-head gasket 1 can be reduced, and thus, the reduction of airtightness retaining capability can be prevented.
