Abstract

PURPOSE: To accurately cut excess parts off the mouth of the synthetic resin container at an exact position and with high accuracy by a cutting apparatus composed of a retaining means for stably retaining the container, a mouth part retaining device adapted to receive the excess parts of the mouth of the container moving with the retaining means and a blade.
CONSTITUTION: A synthetic resin container 1 is delivered to a container retaining means 3 with the lower half thereof supported fit by a container retaining device 2 and is tilted from the upright position as the retaining member of the container retaining means 3 turns by 90° on the shaft 22. Then, the retaining means 3 is entirely moved to the left along a guide rod 17 and the intended cut part of the container 1 is inserted into the mouth part retaining device 4. With further movement of the container retaining means 3, an excess part 1a of the container 1 is cut with a blade having a inclined edge sliding in contact therewith.
