Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A hydrocarbon washing liquid discharged from the de-ashing process of polyolefin prepared by the use of a halogen-containing metal catalyst such as titanium trichloride, etc., represented by Ziegler-Natta catalyst, is treated with an epoxide (pref. 2W24C epoxide such as propylene oxide, etc.) in the presence of a copper-containing alloy such as brass, to remove the acidic substances from the washing liquid.
EFFECT: Easy recovery and purification of the liquid. Non-corrosive to the process equipment.
