Abstract

PURPOSE: To lower the number of steps and cost of V-pulley production by forming side walls through cold rolling in the axial direction of a cylindrical blank, letting these plastically flow and cold rolling these by way of split dies.
CONSTITUTION: An iron plate provided with a hole 10 is extruded to form a pulley outside cylindrical part 12. Next, the hole diameter is expanded by dies 13, 14 and punch 15 to form a pulley inside cylindrical part 1. The die 14 is put in the spacing formed by the inside cylindrical part 1 and outside cylindrical part 2 and a die 16 is installed to the restraining end side of the outside cylindrical part 12. The side wall 2a of the pulley 2 is protruded to the free end side of the outside cylindrical part 12 by using a punch 17. Thence, the side wall 2b is protruded in a similar manner. Next, a protruding edge part 5 is formed to the inner side of the restraining end of the cylindrical part 1 by using a die 20 and punch 21. Thereafter, finishing is applied. This process enables the V-pulley of consistent quality and high strength to be obtained.
