Abstract

PURPOSE: To make the tractive force uniform by driving one of two induction motors, which are mechanically connected to each other, by means of a common inverter and by driving the other by means of another power converter controlled by an output current of the inverter.
CONSTITUTION: Each of the motor units 4A, 4B is made up such that both driving shafts of the main induction motor (IM) 41a, 41b and the auxiliary induction motor 42a, 42b are mechanically connected to each other. Power variable voltage and frequency is fed from the inverter to the main IM and from the auxiliary converter to the auxiliary IM. The auxiliary converter compares a signal of the current detector 8A, 8B with a reference signal and gives a fixed control signal to the auxiliary IM. In this way, the scattering of the tractive force, which is caused by the difference between both diameters of the wheels, can be compensated to make the tractive force uniform.
