PURPOSE:To obtain a high-reliability head which is superior in following property and is difficult to damage a disc, by fixing one magnetic conversion part of the magnetic head for a both-sided floppy disc device and giving the number of degrees of freedom for the disc face to the other magnetic conversion part. CONSTITUTION:Swing arms 2 and 3 are screwed to carriage 1 by nut 10. Magnetic conversion part 4 is held for arm 2 by load adding spring 6 to give the number of degrees of freedom. Meanwhile, magnetic conversion part 5 is fixed to arm 3 by fixing metallic jig 1. When recording and reproducing are not performed, conversion parts 4 and 5 are separated from disc 9 as shown in the figure. At a recording and reproducing time, an operation instruction is transferred to load adding part 15 and is transferred to arm 3 by cam 14 when arm 2 is operated, and arms 2 and 3 are moved as shown by arrow 13 and are brought into contact with disc 9.
