Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the operability of an automotive direction indicator and exactly operate the direction indicator by providing control means for indication the direction of a vehicle, a signal holding circuit, a member moved by the rotation of a steering column, a steering direction detector, and a signal processor. CONSTITUTION:When a switch 15 is turned ON for short time, a high level ''1'' set signal is applied to the set terminal S of a flip-flop (FF)14 with the result that a winker indicator 17 is flashed. When a steering wheel is turned again back to the original position, an output signal is produced from a steering direction detector 10 in response to the light amount change on a photodetector. This signal is fed through a differentiating circuit 11 and a waveform shaper 12 to a comparator 13, which thereupon produces a steering wheel returning operation detection signal. When this signal is applied to the reset terminal R of the flip-flop 14, the latter is reset to cause the output from the flip-flop 14 to become low level ''0'' to thereby stop the flashing operation of the winker indicator 17.
