Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the quality and the characteristics of the film, by covering the pin portion of a glass panel of a color picture tube by a resist exposure jig so that the developing and applying processes are carried out with no graphite solution adhering to the pin portion.
CONSTITUTION: A light-absorbing-film applying jig 50, consisting of a shadow mask from which an aperture mask is removed and to which a pin cover 53 and a thin nozzle 54 are added, is mounted on a shadow mask fixing pin 10 of the glass panel on which a fluorescent screen is formed, so that the pin cover 53 fixed to a spring 52, which is mounted on a frame 51 of the jig 50, prevents the graphite solution 30 from scattering and adhering onto the pin 10 directly. Ammonium fluoride solution is dropped from the nozzle 54 to remove the unnecessary graphite film from the skirt area. Thus, exfoliation of the graphite film from the pin portion due to a time elapse can be eliminated and the quality of the film can be improved.
