Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the height of protrusions, increase intermeshing strength, make leg parts as thin as possible and improve slidability by also using the extra walls which reduce the thickness of the peripheral parts of the protrusions in making the two protrusions which are orthogonal and approximately parallel to the protruding flights in the lengthwise direction at the center of the front and back surfaces of metal flat wire materials.

CONSTITUTION: A metal flat wire material 1 having been formed with two protruding flights 2, 3 in the lengthwise direction on both front and back surfaces is pressed with metal dies. Here, the intermeshing parts 5 of element 4, i.e., the protrusions 8, 9 orthogonal to the blank length direction, the protrusions 12, 13 being continuous to the both side lower parts 10, 11 thereof and approximately parallel to the blank length direction the inner parts 14 encircled by the protrusions 8, 12, 13 and the outside circumferential parts 15W17 of these protrusions are molded on both surfaces of the blank 1. The protrusions 12, 13 are lower than the protrusions 8, 9 and the thickness H of the foreging inner parts and outside circumferential parts is made thinner than the thickness h of the blank 1 other than the protruding flights. Next, the outside shape 7 of the leg part 6 and further the portions between the intermeshing parts 6 and leg part 6 are blanked out, whereby the individual element 4 are made.
