Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the effect of the minimum OFF-time that semiconductor elements have, by shortening the flowing periods of the semiconductor elements forming an inverter in a region where output frequency is high, and by modulating the flowing periods of the semiconductor elements in a region where the frequency is low.
CONSTITUTION: A three-phase 120° conduction bridge type inverter 14 is constituted from GTO 8∼13, and the output of the inverter 14 is input to the armature winding 16 of a synchronous motor 15. The rotary positions of a field pole 17 are detected by means of a positional sensor 18, and the output of the positional sensor 18 is converted into three phase signals a, b, c with the conduction width of 180° through a wave-form shaping circuit 19, and discributed as positional detecting signal 8g∼13g to the GTO 8∼13 by means of a distribution circuit 20. The conduction periods of positional detecting signals A+∼C+, A-∼C- are modulated by means of a speed control circuit 21, the gate signals 8g∼13g are formed and the GTO 8∼13 are controlled by the signals.
