Abstract
PURPOSE: The fermentation and drying operation of organic substance as droppings of domestic animals and poultry or organic sludge are conducted using one revolving cylinder tank.
CONSTITUTION: After organic substance is charged from hopper 27 in cylindrical tank 12, warm air is blown through pipes 38 and 32 and the tank 12 is made to revolve rapidly. In the meantime, branching pipes 35 also revolve and the organic substance is stirred with flights 31 and further predrying for fermentation is effected. Then, the rotation of tank 12 is made slow down and the air flow from pipe 38 is stopped. The fermentation is effected under passing air of about 30°C from pipe 32 for 8W24hr. After the completion of fermentation, as in the predrying, the rotation of the tank 12 is speeded up and the hot air is sent from pipe 38 and the product is dried to about 30% water conotent.
