Abstract

PURPOSE: To print in excellent picture quality of high resolution by shortening the distance between the cathode ray tube surface and recording medium without allowing to discharge, by providing a transparent conductive film layer on the surface of cathode ray tube and grounding, and controlling the potential on the surface of cathode ray tube through the transparent conductive layer.
CONSTITUTION: A cathode ray tube 13 consists of Braun tube part 13a and optical fiber flux part 13b. A NESA film 20 which is a transparent conductive film layer, is provided on the surface of the optical fiber flux part 13b, that is, on the surface opposing the photosensitive drum 12. This NESA film 20 is grounded, and the surface of the film layer is kept at the ground potential. The spacing between the surface of cathode ray tube 13 and recording medium 12 is set to 500μm or less. Thus constituting, the distance between the surface of cathode ray tube 13 and recording medium 12 may be shortened without causing discharge, so that printing of excellent picture quality and high resolution may be realized.
