Abstract
PURPOSE:To realize a satellite repeating system which can increase the transmission capacity. CONSTITUTION:The signal received through each antenna 1 is separated into the vertical and horizontal deflecting waves by deflecting branching filter 11. Thus the receiving phased array antenna comprising low-noise amplifier 2, phase shifter 3, power compounding unit 4 and deflecting branching filter 11 forms two scan beams for the vertical and horizontal deflecting waves. Each beam is defined to irradiate the area equivalent to about 1/16 the whole of Japan. The vertical and horizontal deflecting beams irradiate sequentially grounds a1-ak plus ai+1-ak and a1-ai respectively. Thus, up-link signals A and B are received at the output of two repeating amplifiers 5A and 5B. The received signals are converted with amplification into the down-link frequencies through 5A and 5B, and then down- link signals A and B are transmitted to each destination via the phased array antennas. In this case, the destinations have a time shift between the vertical and horizontal deflecting beams, and accordingly each spot beam is scanned in such way that it may not irradiate the same area at one time.
