Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of a scratch, a collision crack, etc. on the surface of a glass container in washing, disinfecting, drink filling and shipping processes by forming a surfactant thin film on the surface to increase the lubricity. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a glass container such as beer bottle is coated with a cationic surfactant soln. by spraying, dipping or other method to form a thin film, whereby lubricity is provided to protect the surface. The surfactant is pref. of an amine salt type of formula R1-NH2.HA or R1-NH-R2.HA (where R1 is 12- 22C alkyl or alkenyl and R2 is 1-22C alkyl, alkenyl or the like), an alkylimidazoline salt type of formula I (where R1 is H, methyl or the like), or an alkylammonium salt type of formula II (where R1 is 12-22C alkyl or the like, each of R2 and R3 is 1-22C alkyl or the like, R4 is methyl and X is halogen or the like).
