Abstract

PURPOSE: To economically manufacture a chopper-controlling apparatus without the use of sawtooth-wave generator or the like, by comparing the output voltage from an auxiliary rectifier, from which a single-phase rectified waveform is taken out of an AC power supply, and a control-input voltage in a comparator, and by controlling a chopper.
CONSTITUTION: A capacitor C2 is connected to the output of a main rectifier Rec2, and a load L2 is connected to the capacitor by way of a chopper transistor Tr2. The voltage, which is rectified by a single-phase diode bridge DB through a transformer T without smoothing, is compared with a control input voltage by a comparator CP2, thereby a transistor Tr2 is controlled. Since the comparator CP2 compares the pulsating rectified output signal and the control input signal and supplies the base signal to the transistor Tr2 during the period of the voltage difference, the compensation for the voltage variation can be economically performed without oscillator or sawtooth-wave generator.
