Abstract
PURPOSE: To make focus freely variable by bonding a light transmittable elastic film to one side face of a supporting frame and a light transmittable hard plate to the other side face, forming the inside space as a liquid cell filled with light transmittable working fluid and deforming the elastic film to convex through pressure injection of the working fluid into the liquid cell.
CONSTITUTION: The inside wall 10 of a supporting frame 1 assumes a shape close to a circular cylinder. A light transmittable elastic film 2 is bonded to one side face 12 and a light transmittable hard plate 3 to the other side face 13. In the space enclosed with the elastic film 2, supporting frame 1 and hard plate 3, a liquid cell 4 filled with light transmittable working fluid 5 is formed. The outside surface 11 of the hard plate 3 is so deformed as to become convex to the elastic film 2 side. When the working fluid 5 is filled in the liquid cell 4 where the elastic film 2 is in the state shown by the solid lines, i.e., in the state shown by underformed 16, the lens shown by the figure acts as a concave lens. When the amount of injection of the working fluid 5 is increased from this state, the elastic film 2 changes from the state of broken lines 14 to the state of broken lines 15. The state of the broken lines 14 indicates the case where there is no lens action and the broken lines 15 indicate the state where the strongest convex lens is formed.
