Abstract
PURPOSE:To protect the drive motor from overload through a microcomputer which controls the copying machine, by controlling the stopping of drive motor according to the comparison of the counting of the clock pulses synchronized with the rotating speed of the drive motor by the reference timer time with the set value. CONSTITUTION:By a gear 2 and a photo interrupter 3 which rotate in cooperation with a drive motor 1 of a copying machine being controlled by a microcomputer, clock pulses synchronized with the rotating speed of the motor 1 are generated. These pulses are counted by a counter for a specified period of time set by the timer, and the counting is compared with the set point. As a result, when the motor 1 is overloaded, the counting by the counter is less than the set value, so that the stopping of the motor 1 is controlled by the comparison output by the comparator or the like. Thus, electrical detecting device or protective device is not needed. Therefore, a copying machine drive motor protective device suited to a computer- controlled copying machine may be obtained.
