Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to automatically set film thereby to accomplish the X- ray transmission in high efficiency by moving an X-ray generator along the portion of a test piece to be tested so that the X-ray film may be moved along that portion. CONSTITUTION:An X-ray generator 31 is supported above a test piece or a welded steel pipe 34 by supporting platform 35 and 36 which are positioned in front of and at the back of the steel pipe 34. A movable truck 38 which is arranged in parallel with the longitudinal direction of the pipe 34 is attached to the gutter 37 which in turn is attached to the platforms 35 and 36. The truck 38 is moved at a preset pitch by a driving unit 39. A boom 51 positioned at the pipe 34 is attached in the form of a cantilever beam to the platform 36. A film receiving dish 54 is removably attached at an equal spacing to the attachment of a chain 53 which is arranged under tension in parallel above the boom 51. The aforementioned boom 51 is moved up and down, while maintaining the spacing from the gutter 37, by the lifting mechanism which is mounted on the platforms 35 and 36.
