Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent the stress corrosion cracking treating non-movement film in piping, by filling up water solution regulated pH by volatile alkali substance in recirculation system piping and carrying out heat treatment, at the time of stopping the operation of nuclear reactor.
CONSTITUTION: Water solution regulated pH at 7.5W10 by volatile alkaline substance, such as ammonia, hydrazine, formalin etc., is filled in the recirculation system piping made of austenitic stainless steel, at the time of stopping the operation of nuclear reactor by periodical inspection. The above piping is treated by heat at 100W300°C and decomposed ammonia is recovered by ion exchange resin. Stable non-movement film is formed by the above alkali treatment and resisting property for stress corrosion cracking against severe corrosion environment in high temperature water containing chlorine ion, is improved.
