Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a water feed nozzle for nuclear pressure container capable of preventing water leak at mounted face, by a mechanism wherein an elastic seal member is used at the periphery of the mounted face of a thermal sleeve which is mounted to the nozzle by cold fitting.
CONSTITUTION: Keeping thermal sleeve 3 and sparger 4 to be located outside nozzle 1, piston ring 6 is set to the piston ring groove 11 of the thermal sleeve 3 to permit the coupling protrusion 9 and coupling groove of both ends to be engaged. Pin is inserted into the hold hole 10 to restrain the assembly. To have the thermal sleeve undergo cold-fitting, it is put in liquid nitrogen to cool together with the piston ring 6, and afterward the pin is removed from the hole 10. The piston ring's 6 coupling protrusion may possibly removed from the groove, but the groove of carbon steel contracts more than does the protrusion 9 of inconell alloy, allowing the piston ring 6 to be remained in the restrained condition.
