Abstract

PURPOSE:To miniaturize the power unit by arranging the second group of printing elements at a position which is deviated by a distance equivalent to n fold of the half dot space in the line direction or equivalent to n fold of the half paper feed peich in the row direction from the position of the first group of printing elements. CONSTITUTION:Printing elements mounted on the printing head are divided into two groups. The first group of the printing elements is arranged at the reference position while the second group of thereof is arranged at least in one of two directions, line and row from the reference direction. In the line direction, it is deviated by a distance equivalent to n fold (n is a positive integer) of the half dot space or in the row direction, by a distance equivalent to n fold of the half paper feed pitch from the reference direction. The conventional equipment has a shortcoming that the peak value of the solenoid drive power source to be fed the printing head with is unavoidably excessive since printing elements are often striken simultaneously due to its arrangement of the printing elements in one row at an equi-space along the printing direction.
