Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the yield of products by fabricating a converter by partially cutting off the strip-shaped raw piece of a piezoelectric plate along one of its ridgelines. CONSTITUTION:Vestigial polarization is caused by applying large direct-current electric fields to top and reverse surfaces 11 and 12 of piezoelectric material plate 10 to cut the plate in the direction of vestigial polarization, thereby forming strip- shaped raw pieces 13 and 14. Strip-shaped raw pieces 13 and 14 are partially cut off along one of ridgelines in their longish directions to obtain transformational rod raw piece 31 of pentagonal section, which is further cut into tile shaped pieces 31-1, 31-2... with sectional length (l) the least of height (h) and width (w). To top and reverse main surfaces of those plate pieces 31-1, 31-2..., electrodes are fitted and coupled with cut ridge surfaces opposing, and a column of fixed size is soldered.
