Abstract

PURPOSE: To decrease nitrogen oxides and attain a high combustion efficiency, by introducing secondary air into a furnace toward the plural elements of a burner through oblique nozzles so that injected flame is swirled.
CONSTITUTION: Burning air is supplied from a blower 1 to the burner 7 through a primary air damper 5 and a plenum chamber 6 so that the air is injected together with fuel into the furnace 8. The secondary air is branched from a duct 9 and introduced into the furnace 8 through a damper 10 and a secondary plenum chamber 12. The chamber 12 is branched to a plurality of nozzles and provided with distribution dampers 12-2 at outlet ports to regulate the flow rate of the air. The angles of axes of the secondary air nozzles 12-3 can be vertically changed by tilting means. The secondary air is injected from the upper, medium and lower secondary air nozzles 12-3 along the tangents on arcs centering the axis of the burner 7 so that the air swirls.
