Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce 2nd and 3rd higher-harmonic distortions and also to obtain a diaphragm with good flexibility by constituting the speaker siaphragm by forming an unvulcanized rubber layer on at least one surface of a fiber material. CONSTITUTION:Fiber material 11 to be used should be laterally and logitudinally equal in number of strands. In this case, polyester fiber used and the fiber material is dipped in a solution of 5-10% of phenol resin and impregnated with it so as to form the material in a dome shape. Then, the top surface or both surfaces of polyester fiber are coated with an unvulcanized natural rubber solution to form unvulcanized rubber layer 12. Next, this is formed in the dome shape by a dome-shaped metallic former. Consequently, the rubber layer is soft because of unvulcanization and the dome is easy to vibrate, so that while amplitude characteristics are excellent with a little distortion, separation in a bass range will be improved.
