Abstract

PURPOSE: To form thin moisture absorption preventing films on the surfaces of granules by dropping molten CuCl, SbCl3 or the like onto a smooth rotary disk made of material which does not react with the melt to rapidly granulate the melt.
CONSTITUTION: Molten CuCl or the like adjusted to about 550°C is dropped onto rotary disk 9a in cylindrical chamber 1 from runner 11 in the presence or absence of a moisture absorption nihibitor. Since disk 9a is made of carbon, ceramics, quartz or the like which does not react with the melt, and the disk 9a surface has been worked smooth, the melt dropped onto disk 9a is rapidly granulated by the action of centrifugal force, resistance of air, surface tension, etc. and simultaneously cooled to form almost perfectly spherical granules of 0.1W0.8mm diameter. The granules fall onto bottom 1b, flows out of discharge outlet 5 by vibration of vibrator 6, and are classified into predetermined diameters with screen 12.
