Abstract
PURPOSE: To make it unnecessary to provide any turning part in water for cleaning screen within water conduit by fixing scraper plate to a link chain comprising inner link with projections at both ends and outer link with cavities adapted to receive projections of inner link, said inner and outer links being connected alternately so as to form an endless chain.
CONSTITUTION: Endless link chain 2 consists of a plurarity of inner links 2a and outer links 2b alternately connected by pins 2c at both ends overlapped one above another. Each inner link 2a has a projected portion 2a-1 in a configuration of elongated trapezoid which is formed only on inside link section at the time when chain 2 is articularly bent while it is turning along circular path, and inside link section of each outer link 2b is provided with shallow cavities 2b-1 at its both ends which are adapted to receive projected portion 2a-1 of inner link 2a. However, when chain 2 is articularly bent, each projected portion 2a-1 is locked by edge of each cavity 2b-1 at a predetermined turning angle 2. Therefore, chain 2 located adjacent bottom of water donduit can be endlessly driven by drive sprocket and maintain its configulation by weight of itself, and at one turning end of its path opposite to the drive sprocket, it is able to turn along a predetermined circle defined by the angle α, so that no turning part such as driven sprocket is required at that turning end in water conduit. Scraper plates 3 fixed perpendicularly to side face of each inner link 2a is slided over screen to scrape any dust on the screen and to remove them therefrom.
