Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a cooling fan device comprising a rotary disc having a plurality of grooves cut therethrough and wings provided as protruding above the surface of the disc through the respective grooves, which is characterized by forming the wings of a synthetic resin by molding.
CONSTITUTION: In the proposed cooling fan device, a flat rotary disc 4 formed of a metal plate comprises a spindle hole 3 provided in the center and a plurality of arc-like grooves 5 in an approximately radial arrangement in the outermost circumferential zone. A wing 6 made of synthetic resins is set in and through each groove 5 in close contact, as protruding vertically from the surface of the disc 4. In order that each wing 6 may not become out of place by centrifugal force while the cooling fan is in operation and the disc is rotating, it is designed to have an end member 7 of a configuration similar to but a little larger than that of the groove so as to cover the groove on the surface of the disc opposite to the wing protruding surface. The protruding wings with the end members 7 which are made of resinous material can be easily formed by molding in the shapes and sizes as required to be closely engaged in the respective grooves.
