Abstract

PURPOSE: To lessen operation torque, by rotating movable contact arms under conditions that the contact pieces of the movable contact arms are opened until the movable contact arms contact with a fixed contact arm when the movable contact arms and the fixed contact arm contact by revolving the movable contact arms while holding the fixed contact arm.

CONSTITUTION: Movable contact arms 1 equipped with contact pieces each engaging with a fixed contact arm 5 and a current collecting contact arm 6 when a shaft 14 furnished with pinions 15 at up-and-down end portions rotates in a 90-degree arc are mounted to a central portion of the shaft 14, and the up-and-down contact pieces are provided with contact pressure to the contact arms 5, 6 by means of compression springs 2 and support fittings 3. Inclined planes 21 narrowed at the contact arms 5, 6 sides are installed onto the opposite surfaces of the contact pieces, and space between the inclined phanes extended by means of a projection 20 mounted to a disc 13 fastened to the shaft 14. Thus, when revolving the shaft 14 by means of an operation arm 9 through the pinions 15, the movable contact arms 1 hold the contact arms 5, 6 under conditions that the inclined planes and contact with the contact arms 5, 6 by means of the springs 2. Consequently, abrasion is not produced between these contact arms.
