Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve particularly the cooling effect of the end of the winding of a rotary electric machine having a stator core interposed between two brackets by providing a ventilating hole for introducing cooling air between the brackets and the stator core.
CONSTITUTION: In a rotary electric machine having a stator core 1 interposed between end brackets 3 and 5, a recess slot 14 is provided on the outer periphery of the stator core 1 to provide a vent port for introducing cooling air externally between the end brackets 5 having an exit 6 for cooling air and the stator core 1. An inlet is so formed that the diameter D0 of the bottom of the slot 14 is smaller than that D2 of the inner peripheral surface of the bracket 5. Thus, the winding 2b at the exit 6 side can be effectively cooled, and the winding 2a at the end is also effectively cooled at the end bracket side.
