Abstract

PURPOSE: To restrict vibration and noise of underwater pump by simple device comprising elastic member with water passage therein by which member underwater pump is supported.
CONSTITUTION: Underwater pump 1 is supported by elastic members 12 which have water passages 15 and water chambers 20 interconnected to each other. Vibration and noise transmitted from pump 1 to floor 8 and the like are reduced by elastic members 12. Moreover, since volume of water chamber 20 is varied owing to vibration of pump 1, water corresponding to variation of volume flows to and fro through passage 15, so that vibration energy is coverted to heat energy due to frictional resistance of flowing water in passage 15 so as to absorb vibration of pump 1. The greater an amplitude of vibration is and the higher a frequency thereof is, the greater the vibration absorbing effect is, so that the vibration of pump 1 is further effectively restricted by virtue of passages 15 and chambers 20 in elastic members 12.
