Abstract

PURPOSE: To smoothen the process from starting to warming-up by providing a piston for opening and closing bypass lines according to suction negative-pressure and enabling simultaneous control of both mixture air amount and fuel-air ratio.
CONSTITUTION: There are provided bypass lines 15 and 16 for short-circuting the upstream side of a throttle valve 1 to the downstream side, a piston 18 for opening and closing the lines 15 and 16, and a temperature-sensitive element 19 such as a wax pellet for limiting the displacement of the piston 18 toward the line-opening position according to the engine temperature. A valve mechanism for contrarily increasing or decreasing the amount of diluting air for the line negative-pressure introduced into a negative-pressure drive gear such as a diaphragm device 2 and the amount of air introduced into a fuel according to the displacement of the piston 18, is constituted of orifices 27 and 28 and a pair of grooves 25 and 26 formed in the outer peripheral surface of the piston 18. Thus, in cold starting, the opening of lines 15 and 16 and the amount of negative-pressure diluting air can be relatively increased while the amount of air introduced into the fuel can be decreased, strengthening the mixture gas.
