Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the cutting performance of tool and to use its upper and lower faces by regrinding by making up the cutting tool with a pair of cramp holders, by applying it to grooving of greater width and by forming the V-shaped face.
CONSTITUTION: This cutting tool consists of a pair of cramp holders 2, 3 which deviate from each other 180° in the rotary direction and are arranged so that the rotation locuses of knife-edges of the cutting tips 5, 8 are symmetric with respect to each other. A V-shaped face is formed on the upper face which is the rake face 16 of the cutting tip 5 incorporated in the tip seat 4 of the holder 2, the base of the tip is made a plane 17, and the side is perpendicular to the plane 17. Also the rake face of spent tip 5 is grinded to make itself a plane and the upper face and base are exchanged each other to reuse the tip 5 for the cutting tip 8 incorporated in the tip seat 7 of the other holder 3.
