Abstract

PURPOSE: To keep the heat exchanging coefficient stable and to make the structure of coolant cycle compact, by fixing coolant circulating tubes to a metal plate in tight contact with the same.
CONSTITUTION: Body 12 of heat exchanger is obtained by arranging coolant circulating tubes 11 in a zigzagged manner on a strip-like metal plate 10, applying strip- like resilient film 14 (for instance, made of foamed polyethylene) on the metal plate, said film 14 being cut into smaller sizes than metal plate 10 and applied with an adhesive agent for covering the entire surface of coolant circulating tubes 11, and bending the metal plate 10 substantially into an U-shape together with coolant circulating tubes 11. The body 12 is fastened with tape-like bands 15 from the outside of resilient film 14 in the manner that upper and lower free ends of the metal plate 10 intersect the curved portions 13B and connecting tube portions 11A, so that coolant circulating tubes 11 are forced onto the surface of metal plate 10 by the bands 15. With such an arrangement, it is enabled to keep the metal plate 10 and tubes 11 in tight contact with each other and to minimize intrusion of heat insulating material between the plate 10 and tubes 11, so that heat exchanging coefficient can be improved.
