Abstract

PURPOSE: To control a deceleration rate at a proper value by providing the function of variably controlling the dc brake current at a specified value when dc braking is applied to an ac motor and making the dc braking torque variable.
CONSTITUTION: A current limiter 20 used at the time of dc braking is provided in a current-type inverter. When dc braking is applied to an ac motor 5, the dc braking torque is controlled at a specified value, and a required deceleration rate can be obtained since the limiting value that is set in a current limiter 10 is variable. Furthermore, flexible braking torque characteristics can be obtained by suitable pre-programmed braking instructions.
