Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an ideal limiter characteristic by a simple circuit constitution. CONSTITUTION:In an input voltage range where output voltage Eo is between positive and negative maximum limit voltages +V1 and -V2, diodes D1 and D2 are in a reverse bias state, and the operation circuit becomes an antiphase amplifier with gain -Rf/Ri. When input voltage Ei becomes larger in the negative side and output voltage Eo tries to exceed +V0, output voltage E1 of operational amplifier A2 is increased, and diodes D1 is transferred from the reverse bias state to a forward bias state, and a current starts to flow to input point a through diode D1. This current functions in a direction to raise the potential at point a, and output voltage Eo of operational amplifier A1 stops to increase and is balanced with Eo=+V0 and is not increased any more. In case that the input voltage becomes larger and output voltage Eo tries to exceed -V2, Eo is clamped at -V2 by the similar operation.
